THE Australian market looks set to open lower following falls on Wall Street.
At 0645 AEDT on Wednesday, the share price index futures contract was down 12 points at 5,911.
In local economic news on Wednesday, the Australian Bureau of Statistics releases its national accounts figures, including gross domestic product, for the December quarter.
Also due out are the Australian Industry Group Australian Performance of Services Index (PSI) for February and the National Australia Bank’s online retail sales index for January.
Speakers at the International Women’s Day Breakfast in Sydney include Erin Flaherty, Executive Director of Infrastructure NSW, Simon Rothery, CEO of Goldman Sachs in Australia & New Zealand, Sally Loane, CEO of the Financial Services Council.
The Australian Broadcasting Digital Media Summit continues in Sydney.
No major equities news is expected.

In Australia, the market on Tuesday closed lower after the central bank unexpectedly left the cash rate on hold.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 25 points, or 0.42 per cent, at 5,933.9.
The broader All Ordinaries index was down 23.4 points, or 0.39 per cent, at 5,902.9.
